Designer Spotlight-Mundhir Ali "MAli"

This month's spotlight will feature up and coming designer Mundhir Ali. As soon as I saw his pieces I knew he would be someone I would want to work with. Originally, I reached out to Mundhir inquiring about his modeling experience. I thought he had a dope look that would be sick for editorial. So after talking with him and discovering he had no modeling experience but have always had an interest in getting started in it, I took the initiative in setting up a test shoot. After setting up the test shoot I noticed some of his designs he posted via Instagram. So at the time of the shoot he brought them with him and I was able to take a closer look at some of the designs he made. They were sick!! I couldn't believe this dude, just 18 years old, was making high end designer clothing. At that moment I knew we had to collab. Ever since then we've been connected and have been working ever since. Featured in this post you'll see some of the ill shots we got from his first shoot with me.

Originally from Zanzibar, Mundhir is a nineteen-year-old fashion designer. He not only has his hand in sewing, but has also taken on graphic design. When asked how he started his brand Mundhir answered, ”I just had a lot of ideas that I eventually wanted to get out into the world so I woke up one day and told myself I'll make a brand.” And make a brand he did.

His unique clothing, inspired by everyday life, is designed for men and women in their early to late twenty’s. Within the upcoming year, Mundhir would like to have his second collection completed and available for purchase.
